about this work
The first canvas of this triptych was made by the artist in 1989 as an independent piece. Seymon Faibisovich first worked an an architect in the 1980's and was initially attracted to the image of the window from an architectural point of view. Later, in 1993, when he started working on his project ‘Evidence’, Faibisovich decided to add two further parts, thus illustrating the phenomenon of the transformation of residual vision. Faibisovich has always been interested in the optics of human eyesight and many of his works explore how we see the world, inviting the viewer to consciously engage in the act of looking.
