about this work
In some of Mariana's works what primes is the dissociation of meanings that manifest the unusual or making prevail formal associations. This is the case in ¨Estás en todos (2010)¨, a wall installation made up of old frames that switch their function when having their shape altered. Cuted in half, both vertically and horizontally, and put back together by their vertices, this fragments turn the accessory and marginal (the frames in relation to the image they contain) into central symbol (the crosses they create) giving place to elements of historical and spiritual connotations. Nonetheless, in the art context, these ¨crosses¨ (by retaining their origin recognizable) keep referring to the traditional concept of frame.
