Yongbaek Lee (b.1966, Korea)

Yongbaek Lee  (b. 1966, Kimbo, Korea) received a BFA from College of Fine Art, Hongik University, Seoul, and afterwards studied in Staatliche Akademie der bildende Kunst Stuttgart in Germany from 1991 to 1995. Selected solo exhibitions include Plastic at Arario Gallery, Korea in 2008; New Folder at Arario Beijing, China in 2007; and Angel-Soldier at Kuandu Museum of Fine Art, Taipei, Taiwan.

Selected group exhibitions include The Imaginary Line at DoArt, Seoul; A Different Similarity at Santral Istanbul Museum, Central Istanbul, Turkey; Moon Generation at Saatchi Gallery in London in 2009; Re-view as a Characteristics of the Contemporary Art at Gyeongnam Art Museum in Changwon, Korea; and Reflective Asia, 3rd Nanjing Triennale, Nanjing Museum in Nanjing, China in 2008. In 2011 Lee Yong-baek represented Korea at the 54th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia.

Lee lives and works in Seoul.
